Yea, I bi-amp right now. I run my 200s totally clean and it helps a bit, but maybe I should just eq it differently and turn up. I'll try it then. So you wouldn't recommend switching to actives?
Yea, I've been trying to convince him to do some Arsedestroyer worship for a little while, and I think he'd be down. I think we're planning on recording the Sunday after next, so Dec. 5th?

picked up the following today for a mere eighty dollars:
Anvil 6 unit case Tascam Portastudio 464 (4 XLRS+6 tracks simultaneous recording=badass) ART SGE Mach II Super-Effecter/Pitch Transposer (the octave down is awesome, the arpeggiator is wild) Digitech 21 Legend Multi-FX (needs a new battery...but for the time being it does happen to make some wicked noise)

Last week, I traded this mim fender tele: FOR THIS!!! 1974 Traynor Bass Master! Needs to go to my amp tech for a day, but can't wait to make this thing ROAR. Now there's a guy on local CL that has a Traynor Voice Master; a tube 4 channel PA head... So tempting, but my gear fund is empty, cuz I won this on ebay; Epiphone Les Paul Jr. '57 reissue, thing is brand new cond. and the serial # is 999. Have to figure out how to jumper the P-100 pickup to a high output single coil, but the weight and feel of this Epi is very nice. I can see why Gibson had this model stopped; easily as nice as a more expensive Gibson. It's rare I get a guitar I don't mod. All this need is pickup jumped and maybe a Sprague orange drop cap because I have a couple laying around...

That Les Paul looks rad as shit. I normally hate Les Pauls (too heavy, don't really sound all that good), but I'd like to try out playing a Jr. I got this for Christmas. Needs new pickups but this is big beef.

Needs new pickups but this is big beef. I've had three Jr's over the years, all cheap late 90's Epi Jr's made out of plywood. For some reason they're great trade bait. And I had a Gretsch Jr Jet II that was similiar to this, but never liked the pickups in it, or the heavier body; traded that last year for a coffin case + a 1x12 plywood cab... So finally had the right ca$h + timing to get this '57 Junior. It's a keeper. I might even get a high end pickup for it and rewire it like I did w/ my Korean SG Jr copy... And agree w/ Les Pauls, way too backache inducing for me. But tho average one sound like crap, a really good LP sounds better than any other guitar. Jeff from Romero bought Steve Brooks' (Floor/ Torche) old Gibson Les Paul, and it sounds amazing. Nice Warlock - it that an 'IT' model with the 'set' neck? Looks like a step up from the regular bronze or metal master models... What's wrong with the pickups? BC Rich makes decent stock hi output pickups... Not great, but dropping a cheaper aftermarket pair, like GFS, prob won't make it that much more awesome... A Duncan Invader or Dimebucker bridge (or a Barekunckles if you really want armageddon sound) with a '59 in the neck, OH YEAH.

Nah, it's a bolt on neck. It's only a $200 guitar. This thing still sounds a bit muddy and chunky for me, though maybe it's because I'm going through a 15-watt amp. It needs to be played at a louder volume for best results.

Rickenbacker 360 = Les Paul sound without all the dang weight. My buddy got a SD Invader recently, it is large and in charge, however, it is rather ugly.
I'm glad this thread is alive again. I'm quite the gear nerd and love hearing about people's unique little gems haha.

Getting a pair of Vintage 30s off eBay for my Sunn (Fender) 4x12, since the stock G12T-75s aren't really cutting it with my Mesa. A lot of people seem to like a mix of V30s and 75s, so i figured i'd try that first. Now the waiting game.....

I've been thinking about picking up some modern lead 70s and building a guitar cab ever since I found out those are the speakers Matt Pike used in Sleep. Although from the looks of reviews, they aren't very popular.

We're recording our stuff for the Blasting the Wasteland comp next weekend so i'm pretty excited to see how it comes out on the recording.

It needs to be played at a louder volume for best results. It's a BC Rich. It's made to have bottom end and chunk. Try a eq pedal before new pickups, it'll prob sound good through a big amp. You lucky fuck. I've been trying to score one of those for a long time. I never feel like spending $2-300 though. Wha? I'm always suprised when ppl want $100-125 on craigslist for a Sovtek? I will gearhunt you one for way less then that. Or trade for your Boss Heavy Metal. If you're going to spend $200-$300 on a fuzz pedal, get some sweet boutique one you can resell if you don't like it. I'm always peeved by ppl that pay $30 less for a used pedal than just hitting BIN on a new one w/ warranty for that little off the price. But it sure makes me happy when I sell my pedals. try SD AHB-2 - i got one lately and i must say it kicks! Kuchar, what kind of amp + cab do you use? I've never been a big fan of active pickups, but I'd like to try a guitar with Blackouts thru my Randall or Ampeg just so see if they sound heavier in a grindy solid state amp.

Ampeg Scrambler is the best fuzz for dissolving eardrums. Although an original would probably run you at least a grand because they are extremely rare, you might be able to find a build kit or a pre-built clone for a decent price. I've only had the privilege to play through an original once and it blew my mind.

There's an ebay seller DenTone, that makes a Shin-Ei fuzz clone that he makes w/o the huge signal drop. I'd like to get one of those, even if I just used it for Dave Allan + the Arrows 'Blue's Theme'
