Did you save them yourself, or were they purchased? Not that it matters, but I'm curious. The only biennial that I've been successful in saving so far is some di cicco broccoli that just went to seed on its own and I kept it. I'm gonna try hard to winter over some greens this year, if that 4-legged buck-toothed demon doesn't get to them.

Worked in the garden for hours today as sunday is mine and my girlfriend's only mutual day off. Had a great time and we're off to a good start. Maybe I can get a shitty picture of it tomorrow.

I kept checking at my local shop for some ground cherry seeds but they were perpetually out of stock. So, I ordered some stuff from Seed Saver's Exchange. I got ground cherry, sunberry, huckleberry, and soybean seeds. I'm really interested in growing more annual fruits instead of relying on supermarket fruits. I hope to have sweet jams and spreads for next winter!

Ground cherries rule, which variety? Physalis subglabrata? If so, save the leaves for me. Started working at an organic farm nearby today, brought home some german kale and spinach. Pretty excited about it.

That particular genus is reported to be hallucinogenic, but because it's in the night shade family, I'm not fucking around with it.

My cat thinks my garden box is her new giant outdoor litter box. Already took out a few tomato sprouts. Bummed.

All my three flatmates are growing something this summer on our yard, there is at least potatoes, beans, garlic, salad and tomato coming, and probably something else as well i can't remember now.

I got some ghost pepper seeds in the mail, but not sure if I want to fuck with them. My girlfriend's mom has never eaten anything too spicy for her so we bought her a complete set to grow a ghost chili in a can or something like that. As far as I know she hasn't opened it. She did eat all of the crushed ghost chili flakes we got her though.

Garden is coming in. Serrano peppers, Mammoth Jalapeno peppers, red chilis, lots of bell peppers, a couple of varieties of tomatoes, basil, oregano, and crookneck squash

I'd like to think I knew what I was doing, but anything's possible. The rest of the kale I started was fine. Where do you get seed for this, anyway? I haven't seen it anywhere.

dude that kale is supposed to have 95% germination rate or something absurdly high like that. I started 30 plants from it (and killed them all by taking them outside too early), and it germinated in two days. maybe they got x-rayed in the mail or something? I doubt that would kill these seeds though. it must be because you don't like cloud rat.

must be. I also had a total failure on germinating copenhagen market cabbage, red acre cabbage, and calabash gourds this year. 0% germination.
