It's time to talk about some serious beer. Right now I'm just drinking Narragansett. Cheap local shit with a pretty high alcohol content. Tall cans. I'd say my favorite beer right now is Hoegaarden, it's true that Belgium makes the good shit though I'm willing to bet this beer is better in Belgium than it is in America. Of course, you can never go wrong with a standard good beer such as Sam Adams. It's a "can't go wrong" kind of beer. And for the beer I wish I could get in New England but can't, Yuengling. They say it tastes like a non-disgusting Heineken. All I know is it's fucking good and any time I leave this region, I make sure to buy some. Tell me about some good beers, dudes.

Tall cans. how high? my two favourite beer is the Newcastle, a delicious brown ale and the Murphys irish stout i bought a 12 of newcastle when i went to new york a couple of months ago and it tasted like water, i brought back one from the US to compare with a canadian one, i couldnt believe my eyes but the american was more clear then the one i get here, they probably add water or something

I haven't had a Newcastle in a while but I remember them being good. I'll have to get some of that shit again soon.
I think Narragansett is at about 6% if I remember right. One thing I know for sure is whenever I drink it I get fucked up pretty fast for beer.

Really, having a beer thread is just an excuse to post while kicking a buzz. So I might as well make an AIDS joke and piss all over my face in rapture while celebrating the summer by running around smiting my enemies of the season of warmth with a Citronella candle that doubles as a dual-ended lightsaber of unholy fuck tits.

17 minutes from lucid to blather. Huh.
I like Wernesgruner, it's an excellent malty German pilsner - it's also cheap at the local bulk chain Aldi's - $5.99 sixpack bottles. I like it @ the same or a little more than most Sam Adams except the Octoberfest.
I like brown ale too, Newcastle used to be one of my favorites. New Glarus Squirrel Nut Brown Ale is awesome.
Hmm. Beer sounds good now.

i usually drink keystone light or natural light.
I used to get natural ice, but my old lady starting drinking beer regularly again.
We don't have the loot to drink dank beerz, but when we do occasionally splurge, my old lady like Red Stripe, or we get Modelo or Tecate.

kitchel.net/beer/I am a beer maniac and a rabid homebrewer. Checkout that link for an old pamphlet (that is a bit out of date) about corporate beer. I am not a fan.

love me some new castle and blue moon and mississippi mud when i can find it. cheap beer is usually steel reserve or if i'm at trader joe's i'll get some simpler times. i also drink joose at shows a lot because it only takes one to get a good buzz goin' so slammin' it in the parking lot is easy peasy and then i don't spend as much inside

The drummer in my band is a big homebrewer, so I drink a lot of that. Otherwise I frequent a local microbrewery, due to not being able to buy beer at a store. Haha.

I was big into homebrewing for a couple years. I drank way too much beer, so I had to quit. I loved making 20 gallon batches of ESB, Brown Ale, and the occasional Stout. I made a Maple Imperial Stout that would drop you after two bottles. It was a cool hobby. I use the burner and kettle for sweet corn now.
Damn, now I'm wanting a beer AND some sweetcorn!

I've got an 8 gallon wort kettle, then I'd make a 1 gallon yeast starter so I'd have a huge yeast cake to add. I used 2 - 20 gallon wine fermenters - the food grade plastic trash cans, basically. Then I'd make a super high gravity wort, and have 10+ gallons of filtered refridgerated water to finish cooling the wort so I could add the yeast right away. Then you'd end up with a several cases of bottles, and 6-12 two-liter soda bottles to take to parties and stuff. Yeah, I tend to overdue stuff.

This town is awesome for beer, we have the most microbreweries/brewpubs per capita in the country. That said, i'm often pretty thrifty and go for semi-cheap stuff like Pyramid Hefeweizen ($2 for a 22 oz bottle!) or Rainier tallboys. My tastes tend to gravitate towards wheat beers (especially good German ones), porters and lagers. i'm not a fan of IPAs, i don't like really hoppy stuff, but those are pretty ubiquitous 'round these parts. Guess it's my sweet tooth, ha ha. There's an organic beer fest a little ways down the street from my house this weekend, but i'm totally not going to be able to have time to go..... www.naobf.org/Oh, hi Kevin!
