I used to like Dead Frog's Nut Brown Ale, but now I think it's pretty poor.
Not every day you see a dark beer in a clear bottle, though.

And to get this thread back on track, a beer with many names: New Glarus Fat Squirrel Nut Brown Ale. (review here: www.drunkenpolack.com/?p=282 ) It's been the kinda day where spending the last of my cash on really good beer seems like a pretty good idea. ha, I was going to recommend this in the other thread where you posted your woes.

I bought a variety 12-pack of Long Trail yesterday. I don't like the pale ale, but the regular, Hibernation, and Blackbeary Wheat are all delicious.
Back over Thanksgiving my dad bought a 12-pack of various Sam Adams winter brews and it had a "Chocolate Bock" flavor, seriously tasted like a chocolate bar combined with a beer. Shit was so good.

That's pretty dumb. Anyways, I wish I lived in Pennsylvania. Such good breweries in that state. Victory, Weyerbacher, Stoudts, just to name a few. Great, great beer. Do you realize what is happening in your body every time you drink this stuff? It breaks down to ethyl alcohol (ethanol), which is a destroyer of body tissue, the first areas of attack are the pancreas(which you need in order to live), and your liver(another vital organ for living), not to mention the amount of braincells you're destroying with every drink. Not only that but long term drinking can cause the following: athritis, cancer, heart disease, hyperglycermia, kidney disease, liver disease, malnutrition, neuropathy, dementia, depression, anxiety, amongst a lot of other stuff. So drink up my friend and let us idiots like COCKPUNCH and I live. I know this discussion is dead but I'd just like to add that if beer is going to kill me sooner, I'm going to start drinking way more of it. Living is totally nutsacks.

I'll tell ya what's nutsacks; trying to finish this horrible Pit Bull high gravity ice malt liquor. My brown ales are gone, all I have in the fridge/house is Pit Bull. I totally should have taken a four pack of that back with the neighbor's dog. 'If you love pitbulls, you have to try this Pit Bull malt liquor!'
At least the 2nd is tatings better than the 1st... also, football = suck vs. zombies on sunday nite.

Summit Pumpkin Porter was good. Bummed I drank it all up and Sunday liquor laws prevented me from walking to get more.

I am a root beer lover too. I HATE Virgil's. Fucking hyped to no end then it just doesn't deliver. Natural Brew Root Beer is a million times better.

Pitbull is the only tall can I couldn't finish the swill at the bottom... way gnarlier than even Four 0. Pitbull makes Steel Reserve taste like craft beer - I don't think I've had Four 0? I was kinda fukt up for a mere $1 last night, but I will be glad when that 'beer' is gone. Mmmm. Root Beer. Goose Island or Sprecher here!

Pitbull makes Steel Reserve taste like craft beer Damn, that's saying something considering I could barely make it a quarter of the way through a tall can of Steel Reserve before I had to stop for fear of wanting to shit and puke my brains out at the same time.

LOL awesome point. I almost spit up on the kybd you bastrd. Yeah, Pitbull really is that special. Like J-RAD, I don't totally finish the can. And the end of the 2nd can leaves me feeling like only you can descibe. It is a free buzz at this point tho & I don't think I've ever thrown beer out. i'd like to try goose island soda. their beer is great(no wonder AB bought like 20% of their stock) The local bulk store had Goose Island Root Beer on sale for a while. I think I went through two cases!

I think Narragansett is about as grody as I get, it's a small step above Steel Reserve (to being tolerable) and has a high alcohol content, and it's cheap. The bar that Powercup played at down in Pawcatuck has sold tall cans for $1.50 each when I've gone there for shows. Only two or three necessary to be in the zone.

Girlfriend got a new job. Celebrating by drinking Jewbilation Bar Mitzvah (13 malts, 13 hops, 13%) Brewed one time only. I had it on tap last year and bought the last bottle I could find in Rochester. So psyched for this year's anniversary ale it's a 14% barley wine. beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/262/53470

There's a new brewery here in Rochester and they fucking rule. 3 Heads Brewing company is their name, I have had 2 of their beers so far The Kind IPA(seems a lot like a west coast style IPA super piney and citrusy hops. I'm in love) and Skunk Black IPA. Both are amazing, and from what I've heard they will begin bottling in January or February right now it's only on tap around here I believe. If anyone wants to start doing beer trades I would be totally down seeing as I can't get some brewery's beers in this neck of the woods (founder's, bell's, firestone walker to name a few.)

If I had the money to ship beer, I'd think I'd just buy + drink more local beer... Or start homebrewing again! I got a 12 pack of Leinenkugel's Fireside Nut Brown last week. It's too carbaonated and roasted to be a really good brown ale, but it's pretty light body for a brown ale too. Pretty good beer for $9.99 / 12 pack, but I'd get a different style next time.

I have some of the Berry Weiss in my fridge, it's pretty good but probably too fruity for some people.
