People who are into grind use salutations like "cheers" and "grind on" or "keep grinding" all the time. Its like it never fails to be a goodbye statement on an email. I wish I saw more "keep it brutal".

i always thought "cheers" was a punk/crust thing, and carried over to grind because there is so much overlap.

I first saw "cheers" from oi boys/skins and streetpunks. So i tend to associate it with them. Scott use to use "high fives and stage dives" in emails but I always got a youthcrew vibe from that. How about we all use Dairy Queen's "hot eats, cool treats"?

just politeness, i suppose. we send out; "peace", "cheers", "hailz", & "respect". However my personal favorite to use is "cookies & pie". i know that some of you have received these closings from me. anything other than being overly professional (like "yours truly", "sincerely", etc.), yet still friendly without coming across as blazé. it isn't without irony, that there is now a sense cliché tied to the closings that were an alternative to the norm.

i say "see ya later alligator" and if someone is kvlt enough they say "after a while crocodile" old school! i used to hear that, as a child, up in NY. it seems like someone on Happy Days used to use that euphemism, or they played that song on the show or something. When i moved down to rural NC initially, i noticed that NO ONE said anything remotely similar to stuff like that. i also noted that sodas... in Buffalo & much of the NE; "Pop"... was now called Coke... even if it wasn't Coke at all. garbage was not garbage, it was trash. and you were NOT full of baloney, you were full of shit. Hockey?... yeah, i hockeyed in the toilet, boy. YIKES! and everything was all, howdy/bye ya'll... or hoss... or bo. but my favorite one, the first time i heard it... Let's make like horseshit, and hit the trail... of course i was only like 9 when i heard that, so it was wildly funny.
