Well I'd be having Prairie Cat master it, because I've heard nothing but good things. But thanks for the info.

I'd imagine them to be the same level of quality as United, neither of which is anything special, but I don't think you'd really lose out on much, if anything, by going with Archer over United.

doing a DLP through SAMO MEDIA (canada) soon. samomedia.com/vinyl/news/note that Gord (from Deranged Records) works there. FYI it seems they now beat IMPRINT on LP cover price (as of my last conversation w/him). i will let all know how it goes. forgot to reply to this. so.... the NORTHLESS clandestine abuse DLP was pressed this winter/spring by Rainbo, covers by RossEllis via SAMO MEDIA. pricing was VERY fair, communication beyond excellent (re: i get quotes on the fly from the rep at midnight!), and quality was as expected or better. shipping via common carrier from Canada for over 1200 pcs of vinyl and 1100 covers was only $363! doing the MASAKARI / ALPINIST split LP there soon. hope it goes as well. so far the pricing looks GREAT (180gram even) and i think Gord (my rep) is possibly the best salesman/rep i have dealt with so far, sans maybe Walt at IMPRINT. to note: United beats them on 10"s and its about even on 7"s.

yeah Gord was awesome when I was getting quotes from him. I never followed through with the project but I feel they're doing all they can to make things as best as possible. especially after reading about your good dealings

National Audio Company maybe...
I haven't gotten only J-cards from them before but it would probably be worth looking into

Well I'm almost certainly going to do my tapes at NAC, just didn't know if they'd do full color j cards too, or if there were a cheaper way to do it.

I just looked at NAC and they have a package that includes full color j-cards for 100 tapes @ $146.something. that's not too bad at all. the j-cards are only 4"x4" though.

If NAC can't do what you want, my printer local will do 11x17 heavy stock, 2400 DPI color one side, b+w on the other for 45 cents a sheet, cut, cash money. You'd have to fold them I think, I think he only has a quad folder. But there's no minimum, cuz he's doing commercial laserprinting, no plates/film needed.

damn that sounds pretty good! He can also run oversize 12x18... You can get 2-4 J-cards on a sheet, so the 45 cents is for multiple J cards as well. We're doing large color J cards for the Cogs & Sprockets / zombie handsomE split tape... Should go for duping soon, I have to check with Andres, but my side will be done by end of next week. Don't know if your's is before that, but it would give you a chance to check them out too.

as far as i know, they sound great, given that dave disleksick has used them.
sadly that statement might be a conundrum.

all lathes are going to sound sub-par to actual vinyl in the end, though.
