I'll just wait for the radio edit to hit Wal-Mart.
But really, this is good news, didn't know they were up to anything new.

That is fucking wrong. FUCK CORPORATE GRINDCORE (remember me when that's printed on various t-shirts in a year)

Shouldn't be too much of a surprise seeing as they played the scion fest this year and had a scion sponsored show with nails and trash talk. I for one am stoked.

FUCK CORPORATE GRINDCORE (remember me when that's printed on various t-shirts in a year) everyone's going to eat this up with "who cares, it's good," "it's free so I'm not supporting Scion," and other bullshit excuses. I don't even want one for free.

Anybody who believes in the ideals of underground music to even the slightest degree should be boycotting the fuck out of this thing. The cover art alone makes me want to puke. Fuck anybody who supports this shit too. You're throwing ethics under the bus and must be stopped.

I find it really odd that they turned down an offer from Relapse, yet chose to work with essentially Toyota.

Seems to be a direct throw back to the original grindcrusher art.

Free CD. If you hate the advertising, throw it in the trash. These guys are my friends and I'm interested in seeing how it is. If I'm totally offended by anything about the CD I would send it back to where it came from, but I'm thinking it will be solid and worth carrying for free.

I'm personally indifferent to the whole thing. Scion isn't making money (directly from this release) by giving it away for free. That's not to say their marketing isn't getting geared up for the future, but when it's a money-making world and money is really shitty right now, I think everyone has a right to make money how they see fit and if that is what Magrudergrind is doing, then good for them. Is this really hurting anyone? No. Maybe everyone's "death to false hardcore" attitudes or "anti-corporate" sentiments. But I think it's safe to assume that everyone here buys records from Relapse and probably even bigger labels than that. While I realized that's a little (or perhaps a lot) different than a car company-turned-record-label invasion into hardcore, the principals of contracts/more "mainstream" approaches remains. I find it really hard to believe that Magrudergrind/Trap Them/Pulling Teeth/whoever else is involved signed contracts that would in any way limit or change the sort of music they create. Or that Scion would even think to try that on such a "market" as hardcore. Music is music. Business is business. It's a money-making world and it was bound to happen some day.

I'm not into this, but before I go spouting off I want to talk to Chris or someone about it. Oily Menace demo has an anti-scion song on it for petes sake.
