I'll probably go down and check to see if they have the books in the URI library at some point. The place is massive and much closer than your house. I just don't want to risk being unreliable to you as far as returning the books, you know?

Yeah, I think I got my copy at a library book sale for about the same price. Haven't read it yet though. Tried but it's too crazy and vivid. Started making me panicky within the first chapter. Haha.

I used to read A TON of Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance books when i was younger, but just don't enjoy them in the same way anymore. Robert E. Howard and GRR Martin are more the kind of fantasy i still read.
Once again reading this, one of my favourites: Dan Simmons - Hyperion & The Fall of Hyperion

Been a LONG time since I've read stuff like that and Forgotten Realms but man, I wish I wouldn't have stopped reading it cuz I enjoy them immensely. What kind of fantasy is Howard and Martin?

Martin wrote A Song of Ice and Fire, the show Game of Thrones is based on that, and Howard was the guy who wrote the original Conan the Barbarian stories. Totally different, but i enjoy both a lot. Chronicles were good, but i think i liked the Trilogy of the Twins (or something) even more back then. If you haven't read that one i think you should try it too.

I came home from work last night and found someone had left a few free boxes of books on the sidewalk. They obviously came from a Republican household (I snagged a book called "Free Market Environmentalism" out of curiosity) but you know... it's worth a shot.

Most Republicans aren't so fond of FME (allows tort action by private citizens against irresponsible industry), so maybe the collection you got is a bit better than you may think.

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn Read this one in grade school, pretty good. The movie is worth a watch as well. I'd like to read The Gulag Archipelago at some point.
