man, I'd never drive any GM unless it was an el camino or a Merc Eight. and 21mpg sounds abysmal. my number one choice would be a Mini but I can't afford to buy one or pay maintenance on it, so that's out of the question. I thought the same, then I bought the Olds after test drive, good price and Consumer Reports. Really glad I did! Now I know my next used vehicle will be a Chevy Venture. The mini van gets 26-28 mpg too.

If you wait a year or two, the Ford Fiesta should have a three cylinder in it. I don't know how people drive Minis, at least the stick shift. I am a bite-sized person and the shift knob still feels like a little toy joystick to me. The supercharged version, however, is totally worth the micro size of it all.

I definitely considered the Fiesta, but I don't think I'm going to have the option of holding out that long. I'll know tomorrow.

The 1.6 definitely isn't a bad motor and 40 mpg is worthy of boasting for a domestic vehicle. The three cylinders they are prototyping claim to have equivalent power with the added benefits of less displacement and better balance, which is inherent in three cylinders. It's a shame Mazda is the only company researching Wenkels still and that they are too obsessed with the racing ideal in designing their RX series.
Have you considered Hyundais? They are rather vanilla, but they are cheap new and come with a great warranty and have a pretty good resale value, as far as resale values go.

I'm going to go check out a Honda Fit Sport this weekend I think. I looked briefly online at Hyundai Accents but apparently they have a pretty bad safety reputation.

I know a lot of the bad safety reputation is due to the fact that most of them don't have ABS and none of them have stability control, however, I personally hate both. The Fit is pretty neat, but from the sound of it, maybe you should consider importing something, because the European market is infinitely better for compacts and subcompacts. I'm not sure on import charges, but exporting isn't ever too bad when we sell cars to overseas customers.

I had thought about that, especially with the Fiesta, which is supposed to be way better in Europe. My boss' family is from Europe and they send cars back and forth all the time.

my car gets like 20 mpg, this tour i keep speaking of is going to be me and 3 other people right? well, those 3 other people, 1. don't have a drivers liscense 2. eat meat 3. smoke ciggarettes. while i'm the opposite in the other circumstances. also, 2 of us have jobs, and i'm the youngest having the most hours per week. stupid predicaments!

If I ever meet anyone that works for mediafire, rapidshare, or megaupload, I will stab them in the fucking eye full-on, slow, excruciating, Lucio Fulci giant-shard-of-glass style. And film it for the interwebz cuz at least fuckin' silly-stoopid youtube WORKS.

Mediafire works awesome and I've never had a huge issue with those other two places either, what's the problem?

Mediafire works awesome and I've never had a huge issue with those other two places either, what's the problem? Mediafire is medium... Too many pop ups that won't block, bullshit adware, etc., but it eventually works. Rapidshare I can only DL from late at night, also OK. Megaupload has been the worst. Can't DL a file from there for ANYTHING. 100% of the time it says I'm downloading a file, even with checking network (no traffic) and apps/programs, and rebooting. I might be a dumb ass, but I know if my damn computer is downloading a 100 meg RAR file or whatever other bullshit the results screen shows. After tries late last night, reboots, etc, then this morning, then again @ lunch, FOR ONE FILE, it's just stoopid. Usually, I wouldn't give a shit, I'd just skip the download. But I'm working on a comp w/ 15+ bands and dowloading all this material from the shit-ass upload sites has pretty much convinced me this will be the last CD comp I do... It sure the hell is why I quit hitting music blogs. So, yeah, just venting over frustrating computer shit that should 'just work'. Nothin' to see here.

Rapidshare is the devil. If you use a download manager designed to file-sharing sites you can literally just copy the URL to the clipboard and it will ask to start downloading and you don't even have to see the stupid wait screens. Ask the user on here named conscience, he got me hooked on JDownloader before I switched back to Linux, he could probably suggest something since JDownloader supposedly is a piece of junk now.
