I really wasn't into that movie at all. I guess you could say any movie with Seth Rogen in it follows a formula of "vulgar/profane yet hilarious first half and touching and sweet coming of age second half" (movies designed for people on dates), but in that movie in particular I found it really overbearing.
I'll stand behind Superbad any day though. Want to watch Pineapple Express again, thought it was okay the one time I watched it. Perhaps it's funnier the second time around.

Always thought Tetsuo: The Iron Man was a great bizarre flick. I have the 2nd one on tape too; darker, maybe a bit less bizarre... And in color! lets trade some tapes I'll get a 2nd VHS this spring or summer when the rummage sales start up again, I'll be able to dub tapes then. If I can get tapes! Also, good list Ryan! The only movie I'm not into on that list is Backdraft. edit: Pineapple Express is very rewatchable, and most of those comedies are like a 2 view maximum for me.

I just watched Battle of Los Angeles last night. While I wasn't expecting anything amazing, this was a thoroughly horrible movie. It had a lot of potential but the ball was dropped. There was a great cast of good character actors, but they were all so one-dimensional that it was ridiculous. The aliens were never really given any sort of back-story, they're just there and fucking shit up.
Although alternatively I picked up a vhs copy of They Live at a thrift store the other day. Its one of my favourites, so I was really stoked to find it.

It was a solid C until that genaric scene where he gives the genaric hero/team work speach. then after that it got SOOOO BAD. I like how the aliens looked and i enjoyed the idea that they were here to steal are water because there ships are fueled by water. Could have bin a good movie, but wasnt. FAIL

Haha I kind of forgot about the whole "they're here for our water" part because it was such a minor plot point.

Just got back from seeing Paul in the theater. It had its funny parts but it definitely felt more like an action movie than a comedy. Some really quotable lines though. "You bet your fat cock I am." It was a really well written action movie though and wasn't even really cheesy.
Would see again.

I was talking about this with my girlfriend the other day; I seriously fucking hate movies that completely switch the entire atmosphere of the movie half way through. Maybe teenagers blow their load to this shit but that fucking kills it for me. It's cool if you want to have a meaningful conclusion, but when the atmosphere feels like a completely different movie it ruins it. Reminds me of that movie Knocked Up, garbage movie.

I watched most of the Two Towers last night before not being able to stay awake any longer. We fast forwarded through all of the boring frodo scenes.

Tried watching 'The American' w/ G. Clooney this last week. Terrible movie. Couldn't even be bothered to watch it 'til the end. BORING. When a movie has Italy, hookers, and gunfire, and it's putting you to sleep, you know it's total shit.

I watched Kick-Ass last night with my girlfriend, it was far better than I was expecting. Crazy old Nicolas Cage actually worked really well in this movie.
After she passed out I watched Sunshine, that movie is pretty fucking awesome. Danny Boyle is an great director.

Watching the Cable Guy right now. I seem to be more and more appreciative of Jim Carrey as I get older.
Watched My Cousin Vinny the other night. Basically wanted to watch anything with Joe Pesci in it, since it transcends hilarity when that guy talks.
