Nicholas Cage is a hit or miss actor. More miss as of late. The Weatherman was an cool movie, if you wont to see Nicholas Cage act for reelz.

Watched My Cousin Vinny the other night. Basically wanted to watch anything with Joe Pesci in it, since it transcends hilarity when that guy talks. i find this very similar to danny devito's acting, i mean it's always sunny in philadelphia and twins both wouldn't be the same if it were like vern troyer or some other "dwarf".

Checked out Public Enemies and Inception last night. Public Enemies was pretty shitty, it felt too jumbled and there was very little character development. It really should have been a much better movie given the cast.
Inception was actually pretty good. It didn't live up to all the hype of being so amazing and mindblowing. I feel like all the people who were dumbfounded by all the stupid dream raiding in the movie are just really stupid.

Event Horizon was awesome. I remember when that came out ( i was like 16/17) I lied to my parents and said I went to go see it but instead went and did acid and hung out in the woods behind the mall/movieplex.
I called my mom to pick me up after the movie had ended and she asked me what it was about and I made up this huge convoluted plot based on the previews I had watched. Little did I know she had watched some Siskel and Ebert show that talked about the movie and she knew the whole plot.
Got busted, although I just told her I was drunk and she bought it.

I got a Best Buy gift card yesterday so I went down and got the Ace Ventura boxset (has both movies and the animated series, only 10 bucks!), Idiocracy, and Howard the Duck (my teacher had been calling this one guy Howard the Duck so I got curious). I've seen the Ace Ventura movies but not the other stuff, looks like this will be movie night.

George Lucas needs to remake Howard the Duck. All of his other remakes were horrible, but Howard was so bad that it should come back to being good again.

Hey Dom, you seen to be right on the money about Howard the Duck. I'm a little over 20 minutes in and this movie sucks, but at least it sucks in a way that's funny.
Idiocracy was fantastic though, funny and depressingly realistic at the same time. "Brawndo's got what plants crave."
I'm very familiar with the first Ace Ventura, that shit never gets old. I put the second one in and wasn't paying much attention. I'll probably put it in again at some point tomorrow.

I'm a big fan of the second Ace Ventura because it's Steve Odekerk (Kung Pow, Thumb Wars, Bat Thumb etc.) and that stupid sense of humor suits me.

Isn't the ending totally a 'dark force' battle now that I think of it? Howard the Duck influencing the later Star War movies. No wonder why they suck.

To be fair, Howard the Duck is a much better character than the movie portrays.

Watching Stanley Kubrick movies for school. I still can't bring myself to sit through 2001: A Space Odyssey for more than ten minutes at a time. I finally watched The Shining though. I can't believe I went this long without watching it.

To be fair, Howard the Duck is a much better character than the movie portrays. I have comic books too. Agreed. Speaking of comic books, I got 'Jonah Hex' DVD from the library. Megan Fox = waste of screen time. The dude who played Hex was just doing like a low qual Eastwood impression. And John Malcovich was mailing it in. Just wasn't spaghetti western or grindhouse enough. Not a movie I'd ever watch again, it was kinda painful making it to the end even watching it in two sittings. Is 'Robin Hood' w/ R. Crowe any good? Got that on lib loan 'til tues...

Yeeeeeeeeeeaaa, I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree. Megan Fox is the best usage of screen time in that movie.

Hex just looked so awful I wont even download it. I like Josh Brolin and John Malcovich, but I knew as soon as I saw Megan Fox on the cast that it would be a piece of shit film.
I've heard the new Robin Hood isn't any good, either.

I meant in general, but Jonah Hex was bad enough that Megan Fox could have been the best thing about it. But that's like saying the best thing about having ass cancer is that it's localized. is any R. Crowe movie good? He died in the end of Gladiator? That was a decent spectacle of a movie. I got Robin Hood more because of possible sword-violence and ppl getting shot w/ arrows and stuff.

Just watched the movie Choke. Fucking awesome. Dark and super funny (not in a laught out loud way, but still very funny.). But it is a movie based on a Chuck Palahniuk book so about 20 minettes in I guessed the twist. But the twist ended up not being a major part of the movie. I also saw the Rivers edges a few days ago. Crispin Glover and Keanu Reeves are fucking awesome in that movie. I do suggest both to be checked out. is any R. Crowe movie good? Romper Stomper is a good one.

Romper Stomper and River's Edge are two of my favourite movies. Every time I watch River's Edge I can't help but hear dystopia play during the parts they sampled.

Yeah, I saw Romper Stomper when it was released and I was pretty much 'meh, I know idiots like that.' Same with the skinhead movie w/ Edw. Norton...
I do like River's Edge, tho I haven't watched it in years. Scarier than a lot of horror films, for sure.

I havent seen Romper Stomper in a few years, but i remember enjoying it. I remember some of the acting being kinda cheesey. The ending is the only thing in my mind that stands out. The Asian Tourist taking pictures of him (NO SPOILERS). American History X is a much better movie in comparisen. Not the same though.
The Rivers Edge I found sorta comical. Its eerie at times, but just the way the kids act in the movie I kept yelling at the screen going "WHAT THE FUCK.". Really enjoyed it. Probly going to watch it again tonight.
