I played Skyrim for two hours this weekend, that game still rules, I think it is never-ending.

I'm reading that series right meow! How is the game? Game is ok. It has it's good points and some frustrating shit best part = The Foundry - user created adventures, this fucking rules! graphics are good, combat is action based which is cool down sides; only 5 classes to choose from, and they are sort of predetermined, you can't really build your character however you want multiple stupid ingame currencies tied into cash shop, you get copper, silver, gold coins like in regular D&D or other mmorpgs but you really only use these astral diamond things to buy anything and while you can earn them quite a bit ingame they can also be purchased Honestly after playing it for a few weeks it made me want to go back to Dungeons & Dragons Online because that is closer to actual D&D

Most of todays video games are too patronizing and easy for me to be interested. Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are really good, otherwise I just seem to go for the old titles. Right now I'm starting out with Master of Orion 2 from gog.com, which so far has been awesome. I'd really like to get back to playing Sins of a Solar Empire, but I'm not sure if it's available for Mac.

Has anyone played Metroid: Other M? The Metroid series is one of, if not, my favorite series and I haven't really heard much about it. It's 2D and it is on the Wii and I sort of want to pick it up.

Nothing like playing the original Zelda to bring the phrase "shit sandwiches" to the forefront of your vocabulary.

Original Zelda is rough.
Ever play the second Contra? Damn near impossible.

Beat Super Mario 64 again, but I felt completely underwhelmed the whole time. I remember it being really challenging 15 years ago...
Also questioning the release of the 2DS. If you haven't heard, it is a redundant handheld system that allows you to play the later 3DS games in 2D. It is supposed to be "kid friendly" and fairly cheap ($140), too. So unnecessary.

The hardest part about Super Mario 64 was being a 9-year old kid trying to manipulate that joystick.

I debated getting one just because its way cheaper and I don't really care about 3d, but figured I would probably never play it.

bought a hardly used copy of Battlefield 3 awhile back. That game rules, I play it often. Online play is great the real game play is horrible.

I used to play those Battlefield games with my friends over my highschool's LAN network. The online play is cool, and I like how each member can be assigned a different "job" or skill. Ghost Recon series is my favorite of those type of games with no online play though.

I need to check out more games that have come out recently. The last game I finished completely was Dishonored, which was really cool but also really easy.

They took out a lot of the strategic elements and made it into essentially a large scale twitch shooter a la Call of Duty. In the same vein, I have been playing Planetside 2 for the PC lately, which in a lot of respects is what I would have wanted Battlefield 3 to be. Very team based with a great command structure, plus the scale is insane for a FPS. 2000 person servers split between 3 teams - seeing 30+ tanks peak over the horizon heading towards your base is insane.

Watched some friends play Titanfall Beta the other day... it is reminiscent of Halo but with more team-oriented approach and a crazy arsenal like Killzone.
I've only been playing Mario Kart 64 with friends sporadically over the past few weeks. Once you figure out the drift-boost you have an unfair advantage over anyone that hasn't mastered it as well.

Mario Kart 64 is one of those games that's like riding a bicycle to me. I haven't played it in years, but I'm confident I could still wreck most people at it and I've been fluent in the turn drifting for ages.

I started a play through of Majora's Mask on the 64 not too long ago. Halfway through the game my 64 froze and I lost all the data. I don't think I can put how devastated I was into words. Now I'll never save city from being crushed by the moon.

I need to get a better N64 controller so I can go back and try that game again. Once I got to the Snowfall Temple and you have to do all that Goron jumping, forget it.
