I played a Music Man JP7 yesterday, and now I absolutely have to have one. It's like they made those guitars just for me. Even the Sterling one I played was KILLER, just with weaker pickups. I never thought I'd praise anything with John Petrucci's name attached to it, but these guitars are the real deal.

Hopefully soon! Probably gonna get that Sterling after playing a couple more times, and then get to modding it with the pickups and hardware I want. Should still come out costing significantly less than the USA EBMM's.

Has anyone here ever used an equalizer pedal, and if so what was you're experience with it? I've been interested in trying one out.

I enjoy my MXR 10-band, does a good job of taming certain frequencies and accenting others without terrible signal drop or added white noise. Which ones have you been looking at?

I have an old 7-band DOD eq pedal that i used to use quite a bit. I like it, and want to get the MXR 10-band eq now.

I was just looking at the Boss pedal, because I've always had a good experience with them, but I'm open to suggestion. Seemed like it would be a good way to get some minute tone tweaks.

I think I've told this story on here before but there was this fucking INCREDIBLE 80's Randall half stack on atlanta craigslist for a minute that was covered top to bottom in snakeskin tolex. Should have picked it up but I didn't need it and was trying to get out of debt. Dumbass. **edit LOOK AT THIS DISGUSTING SHIT UUUUUGHGHGHGHGHGHGGHHHHH SLEAZE!

I assume that thing has a lot of gain on tap, so that MXR 10-band would work well with this amp as you can add/cut gain to certain frequencies if needed. Also, since you'd have to run the pedal in front of this amp, a flat EQ on your amp would be a good starting point for tinkering around. Ryan, that amp looks siiicckkkkk. Reminds me of a Soldano SLO100 and those snakeskin finish BC Rich Gunslinger guitars I lust after on a daily basis.

That Gunslinger looks magical but the placement of the volume knob?? Why?? Yes, that placement is so terrible I would consider it a total dealbreaker even if that guitar had the greatest tone in the world.

The angle of the picture is a bit misleading, as the placement isn't all that bad. When I tried one of these out, it didn't get in my way one bit. Then again everybody has their own way of picking. These guitars practically play themselves too, one of the best feeling guitars I've played. Even my cheap Chinese-made one is easy on the hands and back.

What do you guys think about the DiMarzio super distortion, duncan jb, or duncan sh6 pickup? I'm not in love with the Lace D&G i just dropped in. not chunky enough and doesnt handle squeals that well.

I like my dimarzio super distortion, if it's the same as mine, it's a humbucker in a single coil slot and sounds good, but definitely not the chunkiest pickup I've ever heard. Versatile though because of the coil tap.
