Think Meshuggah, but with...nah it's just other bands trying to do what Meshuggah does.

I seriously want to know, for the people here that dig it, what do you guys see in that kind of metal anyway?

nowadays, i'd much rather listen to bands that are unabashedly over-the-top than introverted dudes that are ashamed to rock. stuff like armored saint, lizzy borden, diamond head, cirith ungol, etc is just rampaging heavy metal like it should be.

I haven't heard any of those bands so I have no grounds to say anything about them, but concerning Manilla Road, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, etc. that shit to me is the absolute epitome of dated metal for guys who are just too cool for school. When I listen to metal of any kind, I want it to be ferocious. I want it to sound like it's made by sexually frustrated guys with horrible social skills who smite everyone that crosses their path. I don't want to hear something that's accessible enough for an episode of Thundercats or something that makes me think of 100 Arthur Fonzarellis in a biker bar throwing darts, drinking Budweiser, and creeping on the ladies. It's why when I need a fix of something less outrageous, I tend to stay away from music that "rocks" (for a not as good term) in any way and would rather listen to some shit like 80s new wave or techno or whatever, because if you're a socially skilled human being, you have no place pretending to be a scummy lowlife. EVER.

im gonna be honest, i lost you two sentences in. i dont think the fonz is into metal, though. Metal wasn't a thing yet when the Fonz was around. I'd bet anything that if that guy was a product of the 80s, he'd be into Iron Maiden and Judas Priest.

I never really got into Iron Maiden because they weren't sexy enough. Judas Priest was just enough heavier and sexier than their predecessors that it really does it for me.
