Mostly metal/rock bands bands that boneheads around here (Melbourne) get off on:
Destroyer 666 - everything. It all sucks. They're all hot air and no substance. Weak as piss IMO Gospel of the Horns - same as above Possessed - Seven Churches sucks hard, no questions about it. Useful for historical reasons only Asphyx - 99% constant lazy plodding mid tempo riffs that go nowhere and hang around for too long. Van Drunen is also massively overrated, there were far more savage and vicious vocalists at the time AC/DC - BORING Rose Tattoo - give me a fucking break Repugnant - I expected to like this band, but they didn't do anything for me at all. Maybe I should revisit?

Not really hate but I'm not feeling a lot of the current crop of bands BUT I'm glad that it seems the rampant infestation of powerviolence in grindcore from 5ish years ago seems to have passed.

I don't think I've ever met anyone into metal from Australia that actually likes D666, what's up with that haha! I like them just fine, though they've kinda started to lose me lately, they seem to be morphing into a black/thrash bar metal band...
and yeah, thank god "grindviolence" isn't a trend anymore, or so it seems...that got old real fast

One of those way overhyped bands from a small scene ya know.

Kinda similar to how the bestial/war metal scene ov total daath is over here overhyping bands that aren't really all that great and at the end of the day are super corny haha

I thought the same thing then i saw em live and was totally blown away. Starspawn grew on me super fast after that. I still think there first Ep has good riffs but really pointless songs lengths and structures.

I had the opposite experience cause I saw them live and it was really wonky (not heavy) and the vocalist babbled about space stuff no one understood before every song

I just wish they'd drop the clean/acoustic parts and trim it all down a bit. There's a bit too much faffing about on starspawn sometimes IMO.

Iโm not really sold on Blood Incantation either but found them enjoyable enough live and theyโre all super chill people. I would definitely not mind never having to hear about Sheer Mag again.

Retro death/thrash garbage like Vomitor gets a huge no from me. It's straight up boring and regressive to the point of ignoring everything that helped death metal grow leaps and bounds from 1990 onward. Dumb

Man I hope someone calls em edgelords at a show one day hahaha

I like the new stuff way more than their "classic" era which is funny and strange to me. The new stuff is so good! "Rats...", "Oblivion Riders", and the splits with Reeking Cross, Landfill, and Sulfuric Cautery are all still in heavy rotation for me. It's just raw and nasty with added bonus toilet vox
