Da fuck? PLF/ID is some of the best stuff from both bands. My favorite thing about Reality Choke is that In Disgust has an absolutely massive sound on the record. It literally sounds like it was recorded by giants using cabs the size of skyscrapers and drums the size of nuclear cooling towers. I didn't hear any of that on this record, it just sounded like average fuzzy and unintelligible grind by a band who had proven themselves to be capable of so much more.

Yeah I agree with you on that too.

I remember someone telling me some of the In Disgust stuff on that split was made up in the studio as they were recording it. While I enjoy it, It's no Cali Smile.

My favorite part on the ID side of the PLF split is the motown sample at the end, otherwise, yea, it's pretty weak. It seems slower, and a lot of the songs seem to follow a similar pattern. The way they cut it too makes it seem like it's supposed to be one long song.

Well I fucking love it. It's thrashier, bassier, scummier, and the "one long song" thing is a positive to me. It sounds huge on my stereo too. I know I listen to it a hell of a lot more than the San Jose Oldies CD.

Yeah that is definitely a major annoyance. But I got mine free from Dan Shaw with my War Master shirt so I least I didn't pay for that shit.

Pretty sure they are doing everything through the label these days. I got my shirt from their singer/artist, maybe you can try emailing the guitarist Neal at warmaster89@live.com. Hopefully that works.

I know Converge gets some shit around here (and for good reason too) but that's still their worst material any way you slice it. If only the rest of their catalogue was as good as Jane Doe...

I like ANS but I'm not really into their side of the Reproach split.
I actually really like the Hellacaust stuff on the Mudlark split, don't care for the other stuff I've heard by them though. That's a weird pair.

The CD version of 'Waiting to Inhale' by Poser Disposer has the 'add two seconds to every track' thing happening. Somebody didn't uncheck it when they burned a master, makes the whole album awkward.

If only the rest of their catalogue was as good as Jane Doe... converge is band that i've been using to push folks into a grindier life, start with converge, move to pig destroyer, work up to insect warfare. work there is done. it's a slow process usually, but it's helped us have some folks listen to grind. instead of bands like rancid and star fucking hipsters.

You shouldn't be so insulting, man. PLF deserves more credit than that.

Oh no, not an insult. I like Slayer up to and including Seasons in the Abyss and the Slayer-ness I got from it was totally Hell Awaits jams. Think about it next time you listen, you'll hear it for sure.

I think some of the picks in here are pretty questionable... One of my favorite records is a split with only one side worth anything to me, but that side is SO GOOD: I know Converge gets some shit around here (and for good reason too) but that's still their worst material any way you slice it. If only the rest of their catalogue was as good as Jane Doe... "Locust Reign" is worst material? Get real. I think the Poacher Diaries has some of Converge's best songs. It's at least better than most post-Jane Doe Converge (but ranking Converge's discography is still such a painful task for me to ever take on). EDIT: By the way, Godstomper rules! Heavy Metal Vomit Party is such a fun and danceable record.

all converge sucks. they are a bunch of whiny pussies. I saw them once and the guitarist almost cried because people were booing them.
godstomper is awesome.

I have no problem with Converge until breakdowns start. Once I fast-forward through those it's not bad. Even up to and including No Heroes.

EDIT: By the way, Godstomper rules! Heavy Metal Vomit Party is such a fun and danceable record. You should download Anarchy USA from them then if you want a danceable record from Godstomper. Danny took it on this one!
