Alright. Here it is. A hefty list of Vancouver (and suburbs) bands that rule hard (and fast).
Batoche myspace.com/batocheband
Now-defunct metalcore band that didn't suck and were legit people
Chuck Norris <no site>
Fast hardcore band from Squamish not to be confused with the band from Brazil of the same name. These guys released a 7" (which is still available at Hardcore Holocaust surprisingly, as it's several years old - one of the first legit records I owned) and have recorded but unreleased material. They pretty well stopped playing shows altogether and play once a year at Distort Fest as a 'surprise guest' every year. They had (have?) a side project called Cobra which is really dark hardcore. Chuck Norris have an upcoming tour with War Hero soon.
Dichotomy <no site>
I have yet to see this band but two of my friends were in it, then one of them left. I'm pretty sure they're some form of an anarcho band but someone listed them as noisecore, which I doubt they are.
Mass Grave myspace.com/massgrave
Out of all the bands in this list, Mass Grave might be the one you know the most. Been together for several years and have done splits with Warfair?, Pretty Little Flower, Think Don't Pray, Global Holocaust, and Poser Disposer. They also released a S/T 7" and an LP. Their split with In Disgust just came out. Dave (bass) also plays in Mudlark.
Mudlark myspace.com/mudlark
These guys play some really heavy and really tight doom-grind. Got some cool releases coming up, some of which are on Kill Bomb Records, which is Gord's label (vocals/guitar). Dave (bass/vocals) and Jay (drums/vocals) also play in Osk.
Osk myspace.com/oskvan
Wicked powerviolence, and I mean wicked.
Scumbelly myspace.com/scumbelly
Gord from Mudlark is in this one, too. Grind!
Tempest forgediniron.blogspot.com
Heavy and loud as fuck hardcore similar to Burial Year. Demo is out and available. 10" is in the works.
War Hero myspace.com/warheroviolence
Kids playing some thrashcore. Split 7" with Hominid out soon on yours truly.
and from Victoria:
Compound Terror myspace.com/compoundterror
Some of the best grind of the current day.
Cyborg Justice myspace.com/cyborgjusticefuck
Grinding kids. Now-defunct.
Stegosaurus Beach Defense myspace.com/stegasorousbeachdefense
More grinding kids.
Iskra myspace.com/diskra
Blackened crust power house.
Leper myspace.com/lepercreepcore
Ska-crust stuff. Thankfully toning down the ska and turning up the thrash with every new release.
Mutiny myspace.com/mutinycreepcore
Even more grinding people!
Six Brew Bantha myspace.com/sixbrewbantha
Annnd some more grinding kids.
Wolf Edwards myspace.com/wolfedwards
Wolf (guitarist from Iskra) composes crazy classical music.
