people saw archagathus cranking out a million records and thought "hey i could do this". mince is a silly overused term but i kind of like it/find it funny anyway.

I always thought it was a bit awkward seeing other bands that used the mincecore tag in a way that wasn't intended to be funny, always thought that it was Agathocles' thing.

I am starting to really hate 5"s. Stupid niche where I'm paying more for less music. The extra 0.5" makes all the difference

The extra 0.5" makes all the difference Haha, I thought about mentioning how that wasn't my idea, joe and I both suggested a 7", but Kiyasu wanted a 5". The fact it was actually 5.5" was more due to Erika's incompetence.

Fuck 5" records. Whoever's responsible for making that travesty a trend should be punched in the face.

The Hummingbird of Death one is the only one I can actually get behind because there's so many fucking songs it's impressive.

Okay, that I can stand behind. Goatmeal rules.
Not to mention the song on the B side of that record is my favorite song they've done to date.

I never listen to the B side. I wanted to hear more POMIV recordings with as many songs as the Conjoined Twin Fantasy Porn demo.

Gristnam is a new band with a couple of the dudes from Haarp and they were killer, kind of reminded me of Goatsblood a little bit. The other bands are local NOLA thrash bands, each of which were pretty cool and entertaining to watch.

Providence now has a new local thrash band (I can't remember if we ever had one in my time of going to shows) called Venomizer and based on what I've heard, it's good stuff. They're playing on Friday and I better not be working that night. Especially because they're playing with this sick Boston band that I have yet to see:

archagathus / nak'ay split: best grind record of 2013. arch side really stands out in their discography, all the death metally riffs and carcass leads are the perfect addition to their style and nak'ay is straight up one of the best bands going right now, so sick to finally have them on a slab of vinyl. also yeah, fuck 5 inches. the extra .5 on that VG/SSS one is sweet because I can actually play it on my turntable.

Anybody here listen to Watchmaker? People around here used to hype this band a lot when they were around. Every time I've tried listening, something about it just rubs me the wrong way, I feel like I should like it, but I dunno... willowtip.bandcamp.com/album/kill-fucking-everyone

watchmaker always sounded to me like one of those bands you got on a free cd in a metal magazine.

watchmaker always sounded to me like one of those bands you got on a free cd in a metal magazine. BINGO. Now I know exactly why this is rubbing me the wrong way. I had sort of wanted to say it sounded metalcore before, but that description didn't really seem to fit. THANK YOU.

As far as Watchmaker goes, I'd much rather listen to Conqueror or Revenge.

i keep being surprised by what bands have been getting records released. i'm never gonna give a fuck about brucexcampbell, repulsione, faction disaster, dysmorphic, dead church, mother brain, and a whole bunch more probably. those are just the ones that stick out to me at the moment.

we have two unreleased splits, one with infanticide and one with cogs and sprockets (cogs not being out is 100% my fault though). potential split with head hits concrete if I get all my birthday wishes and that probably won't come out too...
