i couldn't find the old thread where we were discussing this. the 7x7" version came out i guess, and it'd be kind of cool to be able to listen to just the sides of the 7"s that i wanted to, instead of getting stuck listening to the whole cd. there are definitely some bands i could do without. here's the post i saw:
To celebrate the end of term for George W. Bush, the worst president in U.S. history, Relapse will issue grind / hardcore / power violence compilation This Comp Kills Fascists as a limited edition 7” box set on January 20th, 2009.
The limited edition box set features a 7x21” poster and seven 7”s housed in a box featuring the incendiary Bush “Cockstika” cover art (viewable here) that was turned away by all but one printing company. All pre-orders will also include a limited-run t-shirt featuring the same artwork.
The 7” pairings are as follows: BRUTAL TRUTH / MAGRUDERGRIND, INSECT WARFARE / MARUTA, AGENTS OF SATAN / WEEKEND NACHOS, SHIT STORM (mems. of TORCHE) / MAN WILL DESTROY HIMSELF, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION / CHAINSAW TO THE FACE, KILL THE CLIENT / SPOONFUL OF VOCODIN, and ASRA / WASTEOID.
This Comp Kills Fascists, originally released on CD last July, was culled together by PIG DESTROYER / AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED’s Scott Hull. The compilation received year-end credits from both Decibel and Revolver magazines as one of the best releases of 2008. Audio samples taken from This Comp… can be heard now at this location.
“Containing 51 songs, 14 bands, and an up-to-the-second sampling of grindcore, doom, power violence, and noisecore today, This Comp Kills Fascists could be Generation Extreme's Metal Massacre. ” - Revolver “These are the sickest bands in existence violently speaking out against the evils of a greed driven society, all while bleeding out the eardrums of a nation. ” – Outburn “’Fascists’ is essential listening for those who like their music shorter, faster and louder…” – Terrorizer “an unforgiving and quite brilliant assault on the senses. ” – Rock Sound

i'm still waiting to receive our copies. hoping they'll show up soon. ...i will trade these to you distro label folks, if there's an acceptable even-trade styled agreeable way to do so.

I'll stick with the CD, especially since most of those records wouldn't be played on both sides by me. The bands I like on this comp kill it every time though, those Weekend Nachos tracks are the best yet, along with Shitstorm having my favorite stuff on here too.

It was a good comp, and im not a fan of compilations. There was no song on there that I dident like... But I wouldent pay 35 dollers for it.... How is it still a comp when they divided it into 7 splits? Shouldent it be These's Splits kill fascists.. HAha

Should have done a whole new comp at that point. Slimewave series should have just been a box set.

i really dig the Magrudergrind tracks on this comp. i didn't get into Rehashed that much, but i think the stuff on TCKF is so much better.

Wish i had the money for this, but 35$ is a little steep for me. you'll probably do better to pick one of these up at a show somewhere. we won't be charging that much for them. i doubt any of the other bands will, either. as there are 7 of them in a ye old box, i figure that $20-$25 is what you'll see out of most, if not all of us. however, bands won't be getting any of those t-shirts.

sure thing. i'll keep you posted btw - I talked to Relapse yesterday. Apparently there was an issue with the manufacturing of the actual boxes... hence the hold-up on shipping. That was to be resolved this week, and puts shipping on track to go out either by the end of the week, or by the first of next week. i figure that i'll have them within 2 weeks, max-. My buddy Ziggy was wearing the shirt the other day. I'm wearing my Woody Gutherie "this machine kills fascists" t shirt, today. oldest school!

Tell Relapse to let me mastermind their next comp! That's a good idea considering that Scott Hull is obviously clueless as to what powerviolence is.

since the comp's release info per Relapse, states plainly that it is a compilation of "underground grindcore, hardcore, and power violence bands", your opinion of Scott Hull is worthless and you can probably warm up to a cup of STFU.

xbombergirlx, i'll drop you a line when they come in.

ok, i got the box sets in. apparently these are of a pretty limited issuance, because we got very few copies. so, with the requests from SWilliam & xbombergirlX (in conjunction with the other pre-order requests from elsewhere), I am effectively out of stock of what has been re-named; "This Box Kills Fascists". I thought that Relapse did well by renaming it for this format. as we've all already mulled over the idea that TCKF comes across as a box of splits more so than a comp, in 7x7 format, it would appear that some folks at Relapse felt the same way.
ok, about this format... box is gloss finished, with the band/track listings printed on the lip.Thee Relapse watermark in the cover background kind of almost looks holographic. -edit in-no it doesn't. i was high, and in some low lighting. it doesn't look holographic at all. The Bush/Cockstika=priceless. comes with the 7"x21" poster of the full Ronald McDonald inlay/cd cover as one panel. some of the 7" records' label art are mock-up snippets of the bands' art panels and some have original Relapse art... both are topped with the bands' logos. the big win though,is that the 7"s are cut at 45RPM, and the sound quality is superior to the 2xLP. plus, that also makes for a fun bonus feature in that you can turn your favorite grind/hc/pv band into your new favorite doom band by dropping down to 33RPM. lulz. Relapse wants $35(US)/$40(MEX)/$45(OVERSEAS). Really, it is worth it, but i'm undercutting Relapse with my copies, @ $25 a piece regardless of where in the world you're at... -edit in:- & i will pay the postage.
Swilliam & xbombergirlx, if you still want those copies let me know, and i'll email you regarding shipping addesses. (swilliam, i'll need your email addy. you can post it or PM me).
I still have a few copies of the 1st pressings of the 2xLP format issuance of the comp, from Deep Six. Those are $15(USD) +postage. As well, I still have CDs from Relapse. Those are $10(USD) +postage I guess i'll post this info in the Trades section as well, in case anyone who's interested misses this thread.
