Anyone else think that they got shafted for exposure as far as first wave pv goes? I mean, they were the last band from that approximate span that I had heard of, and listening to An Earwig's Guide To Travelling again just now made me wonder.
Maybe the generic name did it. Too hard to find shit on.

They ruled. I had a ton of their records back in the day. I don't really think they got shafted for exposure while they where around. They are certainly under appreciated these days though.

Know if any of the guys are in other bands? I mean I'm sure they are, but fuck if I know.

I don't actually. To be honest, I can't even think off the top of my head who was in Gasp, or if I ever knew any of their names.

Nah I've seen Excruciating Terror, Lack Of Interest, and Bad Acid Trip. All of them ruled live and on record.

i checked out gasp on a recommendation once and couldn't listen to more than one song. but i guess they are part of a larger group of bands with that sound that i just "don't get."

They can be very strange. But also very good. Maybe give them a second shot, listen to Drome Triler of Puzzle Zoo People. It's the LP that came out on Slap-a-ham.

i think that's the one i heard. i remember it being (in my extremely picky opinion) similar to MITB. if that's way off, i apologize, i don't listen to either band. for me, MITB is one of the worst bands i've ever heard in my life to the point of making me angry. i don't wish to start an argument with any of you about this, i know a lot of people really like them. i, however, find them unlistenable.

I have that one and sum of the men. Both are good, but I agree, I can't listen to either of them all the way through.

Generic band names have never left any band back. There are quite a few examples of that. Spazz, Doom, Grief, Boris.. probably better examples.

Thoughtless is my favorite I think. I dunno, the bass lines are real sweet and the noise tracks are just so abrasive. I always really liked Eric Wood's voice too.
In regard to MITB that is.
