Eh...I'm not a fan. I like my black metal to not be quite that cliche. I'm also a huge Bone Awl fan. Wait, are you serious when you say Fall Of The Bastards are cliche? They're one of the furthest from being cliche I've ever encountered, which is why they're one of the few I listen to. Let's see here a) boring tremelo picking - check b) songs about forests and crap - check c) mindless blasting on the drums - check d) stupid corpse paint - nope 3/4...they are pretty cliche dude. I'm not saying they are awful, it's just that there are a WORLD of better black metal bands out there. Just because some crusty grind kids decided to play black metal doesn't mean I have to lick the sweat from their grim and kvlt balls. They do put on a good live show if they aren't playing with a much better band. They played with Massgrave and made them look childish, but the last time I saw them was with Iron Lung, and Iron Lung put them to fucking shame.

They played with Massgrave and made them look childish, but the last time I saw them was with Iron Lung, and Iron Lung put them to fucking shame. Mindless blasting on the drums? How so? Actually, that's too opinionated to even defend with a rational argument, so we'll just leave it alone. Songs about forests and crap? "Where The Dead Hang From Trees" is a far cry from "The Forest Is My Throne" and I honestly doubt any of the songs deal with that, but I don't read lyrics because that's retarded so I couldn't tell you. Less than half of their riffs actually use tremolo-picking as the basis for them. There's a huge crust and death metal influence, especially with the riff structure. It seems more like you're bagging on them for not pulling a Bone Awl or other bands and just playing punk or thrash songs with shitty "black metal" production. I mean, to each his own I guess. And yea, that's Iron Lung, few bands would beat them in a live song. Demonstrations in PRESSURE AND VOLUME! Haha.

Iron Lung/Wasteoid/Pretty Little Flower/Akolyte/Baroness played my living room the same night. It was fucking epic.
Iron Lung are easily some of the nicest dudes in hardcore.
I'm just blasting on Fall Of The Bastards because I find them to be REALLY boring. I think they got big with the crust kids because they have a crust element in their songs, but I don't think they deserve all the praise they get...they are mediocre black metal at best. I prefer stuff that is a little more "out there" I guess.

Haha, but they aren't a straight up black metal band. I mean, they're not a fucking Immortal clone or any of that. People rave about the new Wolves In The Throneroom, which is just about as "out there" as FOTB.
I mean, it's cool if you don't dig them, and admittedly you don't have to give a reason why, but I just still don't understand it. Haha.

They did a split with Noothgrush? I knew of the one with Wormwood. I'll have to look into that.

And speaking of Immortal, Carl should tell the story of the Immortal show in Mexico to lighten the mood since all he does is bash and ruin bands for everyone. Hahaha

yeah. it's pretty good, i think I like splatterhouse more though They're both pretty fucking great. Jason's an extremely versatile vocalist, I mean he does Splatterhouse, FOTB, and Menacer and does vocals spot on for each style of music.
