that I haven't heard before. I do this every so often, either listen to stuff I don't know anything about or previously disliked. It helps me either appreciate things in a new way, or reaffirm that I don't like something. this week it's
Paradise Lost- mostly "lost paradise." I like it pretty good, might check out "Gothic" but I have less optimism about it. a little slower than stuff i'd normally like, but it's pretty awesome. it's consistently heavy and doesn't get too boring or jangly.
Dismember- Like an Ever Flowing Stream cool guitar tone, not sure how I feel about it yet. I'm not much into death metal.
Godflesh- Streetcleaner. I like this way more than I expected to. Who knew a drum machine could actually sound good? I like how they work feedback into it, lots of reverb and cool divebombs. I like the vocals.
Feel free to discuss any of this stuff, or anything that you've stumbled upon or checked out lately. maybe this is a dumb idea, but I'm trying to start some discussion here.

I was listening to The Bad Plus the other day and getting into it. They are a jazz band that covers rock songs. Its good stuff.

Dismember is seriously fantastic. I hate most metal but as for dm, Swedish death metal never fails. Indecent and Obscene is my favorite album of theirs.
Godflesh is pretty fucking straight too. Them and Big Black are the only drum machine bands I can hang with.

giving new things a chance is for pussies. I coated mine in a dense layer of herpes so it's manly again. Anyway, I've come to realize I like old death metal and I still like Converge. How about that?

Big Black's songs about fucking is such a good album.
I bought Tomb's winter hour because it was 6 dollers and one of the guys from king generator is in it, and it is awsome.

the drummer of Tombs was the drummer for Asra. Went to see Woe and Bastard Sapling at ABC sometime last spring and Tombs played, I didn't watch em though, left before that.

You can still order the LP from touch and go, so i dont think the 1000 copys they pressed back in 87 have lasted that long.

I have a different appreciation for the last Inepsy record since it came out, listening to it for the first time in 2 years or whatever.

I like the vocals. check out the EP that was released before streetcleaner. very strong, essential godflesh. i even found you a d/l link (that may or may not work) rapidshare.com/files/32224586/Godflesh_-_Godflesh_EP.ZIP.htmli saw godflesh play with napalm death & nocturnus, on the Grindcrusher tour in 1990. godflesh played their set on LSD. srsly, they were tripping balls & blew me completely away.

The first time I ever listened to Entombed, I didn't dig it at all, and left them alone for years, but a few months ago, I decided to listen to "Left Hand Path" on a whim. Now I'm convinced that it's one of my favorite albums ever. I also still like Carcass' "Heartwork" album haha...

Left Hand Path rules, I still try to give their other stuff a chance but it's not workin' for me yet.

Clandestine is just as good as Left Hand Path, if not, dare I say, better.

the vocals are way different, and I don't care for them. and it's more "metal" in the aspect that the riffs have way more tremelo picking. It just doesn't do it for me.
