This one's for you, Dom.
SLEEP 2010 U.S. tour dates:
Sep. 03 - All Tomorrow's Parties - Monticello, NY Sep. 07 - Starlight Ballroom - Philadelphia, PA Sep. 08 - Brooklyn Masonic Temple - New York, NY (w/ LICHENS) Sep. 09 - Logan Square Auditorium - Chicago, IL (w/ LICHENS) Sep. 10 - Mohawk - Austin, TX (w/ SUB OSLO) Sep. 11 - Roseland Theater/Music Fest NW - Portland, OR (w/ SCOTT KELLY, YOB) Sep. 12 - Regency Ballroom - San Francisco, CA
One of my friends is a Sleep fan and said he wanted to hang out in Pennsylvania for a weekend at some point this summer, so it'd be cool to hit up the Monticello show (which is on a Friday) and make a trip out of it.

Oh damn, didn't know that they added a Chicago date. I'm sure the one at the Masonic Temple would be pretty fucking epic though.

Haha, I'll be going, just because I never thought I'd see Sleep or Sunn O)) and Boris performing Altar. Sonic Youth, Shellac, Raekwon, Tortoise and Explosions In The Sky all rule, plus the Criterion screenings sound interesting.

You're coming out to New York? If I do go to that Friday show I'll have to say what's up and make fun of you for not liking LDOH.

Hahaha, sounds good. I've never been to New York, so I figure now is as good a time as any.

If I go to that show it'll be the farthest upstate I've been in New York, aside from visiting NYC before and going through the Bronx/Tappan Zee Bridge areas while driving I've just been a passerby.

The closest I've ever been geography-wise is Tennessee, which is lifetimes away culture and climate-wise.

I lived in a state that borders Tennessee for two years and never went there. I hear it's cool and would like to go sometime.

Is that one of the states where you got shafted on tour? Caleb was telling me it's a lot like Pennsylvania if you're just hanging out there or driving through (a good mix of north and south). He also told me that Mississippi and Louisiana (maybe Tennessee also) have a lot of cool pawn shops.
I bet it sucks in all of those states if you're vegan though.

Knoxville was actually pretty cool but Chattanooga sucks so hard.

I think I was in Crossville, but I don't remember much about it. Seemed pretty decent though.
