Should vegetables even be considered vegan?
Doesn't the creation of farmlands displace native animals and therefore lead them to go off into unfamiliar and unsafe territory and thus be more vulnerable to predators and lead to a premature death?
Discuss please.

vegetables don't eat meat or consume animal byproducts, therefore yes, they are vegan.
seriously, the same could be said of the non-creation of farmlands relative to the human condition.
there has to be ebb and flow in the natural cycle of life. all conditions change over time, which in itself causes displacement of native animals and perpetuates the cycle you've described.
nature is Darwinism with or without humans.

When an animal is overpopulating they open up hunting season. When humans overpopulate, we displace other animals. That'll show em who's boss.

yeah. what we should do, is teach these animals about abstinence. Maybe Invincible Moose can volunteer some of her time to speak to them about the subject... since she'll have plenty of time on her hands, and won't be hanging around the white house.
actually, we humans have done pretty well at displacing our own breed, as well. I recall that an entire nation of native peoples used to occupy this land. When humans want something, we'll displace ANYTHING.
i'm still liking the analogy that humans are like cancer.
