ok, so This Comp Kills Fascists is out on CD, and is now out as a 2xLP vinyl release. 14 bands, 51 songs... you know all of that info, already. fresh leakage from Relapse, on another pressing...
...to commemorate the end of 8 years, we are going to release the comp as a 7 7” box set (2 bands per 7”) with the cockstika that’s on the disc print of the cd on the cover of the box. We’re shooting to have it come out on January 20 (the last day of Bush’s presidency). It should be totally over the top.

my guess, since from what Rennie has passed down, sounds like Relapse is actually going to drop the wax this time... money... that, or since it has done extremely well as a product, the box set of 7 7" slabs may be an effort to capture the novelty of collector vinyl status. personally, i think that 2 pressings of the 2xLP is a more than sufficient collectible vinyl offering, but they're going to do it anyway, and copies will be available from the bands... and wherever else Weeeeelapse decides to distribute it. i smell product saturation setting in, but i guess we'll have more copies to stockpile. i mean, hell, i've sold very few of the CDs. What a waste of vinyl... It makes more sense as two LPs then 7 7".... Pff amature's haha amatures... or entrepreneurs? i agree, though. it does seem like a waste of a whole lot of vinyl.

ok, so i was thinking about this... and here comes the math....
bands were given 15% of total 1st pressing of Relapse pressed CDs, so this puts the CD pressing at = 1000 deep six 1st press vinyl issuance = 500 deep six 2nd press color issuance = 500 relaspe 7x7"boxset, we get the same deal as with the CDs, so this puts pressing at = 1000
so a total of 3000 pressed when it's all said and done with. for worldwide distribution with the kind of reach that Relapse has, this is still not like a shitload or anything.
i think they pressed a small amount of the CDs to start off with, to see if it would grow legs, and it did.

Did the first press sell out yet? i don't know... i know i have about 40 copies of it. but also, we don't set up a merch booth at every local show house show (because we want touring bands to sell merch, and sometimes space is just too limited, making it a hassle). we'll take them on the road with us though, of course. shit, merch saves your ass on the road. anyway, that may be why Bob has delayed the LP release, to let the initial press run out or low. there is a matter of marketing!

Decibel Magazine picked the comp up as one its top 25 albums of 2008, so maybe that's another aspect of why it's getting the additional pressing. - oh, & thanks Seth.

I think Decibel just threw the TLAL Sampler in the trash when they got it. Hahah. That rules you're in the top 25, mega congrats!
