yep.however, bands weren't told that there were t-shirts. i doubt that they'll send us any of those with our boxes. now here's MY "WHOA".... $40... srsly? fr rlz? $40? d00d, negative. i can't sell those for anywhere near that much. not only is it a matter of principle, no one buys anything now, as it is... and shit is pretty cheap, already. that, and everyone is broke as ballz. that's it! maybe we should just charge more for everything, because everyone has been programmed by marketing techniques to believe that if it's cheap, it sucks... but if it's expensive, it must be the best of the best. i <3 teh amerikkkan way. yee-haw! /help, help! //Send Police!! ///USA, USA!!!

Haha, I never really check that section of the board, so that'd explain it. Considering the amount of crap, $40 isn't that much, considering I've paid $30 for a single record before. I mean, it shouldn't be too hard to sell.

Well I mean, it's all still together, you can't buy them individually, so I'd call it a comp. Just doesn't fit the traditional definition.

True, but some die-hard vinyl fans might find that cool or some shit. I mean it's obviously a marketing ploy to squeeze out more cash. These days you have to really work to get people to buy shit that they'd just download.

I have the first Tomorrow Will Be Worse compilation that is 4x7"s with one band per side that came in a box. Same type of thing, this format isn't really new.

yeah, boxsets are nothing new. the only one i have is the Pestilence boxset 4x7"+1x5", put out by Uncle Wiggy Records, a looong time ago. i mean boxsets are cool, but it is a lot of platter filipping. they're kind of neat though.
regarding the marketing ploy aspect... please see the other thread that i linked to, up top. total pressings (cd, 2xlp 1st & 2nd press, & the boxsets) are only going to end up producing @ 3000 units, collectively.
so, milking more money out of your pockets may not be the answer to the question, "Why"?
