are bands in your area wanting and willing to playing acoustic "meet & greets" at local hot topic stores,or wanting their product sold in hot topic? i find it weird and i donot understand what the fuck is going on.another what the fuck thing that happens here is if you buy a t-shirt from a band you get a free cd,like the music is an afterthought to the merch.granted these bands are of the metalcore, punk pop/metalcore category, but that's what passes for "Hardcore" here.i'm like neck-deep in that muck.

Remind me not to go to any fests in Hawaii. Actually, an afterthought, my roommate and her boyfriend were just in Hawaii for about two months. Damn.

I'd imagine there is a scene like that everywhere but thankfully I never know anything of it because I've always lived in places where at least a few people don't have their heads up their asses anyway.

Sad thing is that place used to be crucial old hardcore history. I know bands like Minor Threat and YOT used to play house shows in my neighborhood back in the day.

Damn. it's nice to visit and there are some beautiful places, but,if you come here soley for the bands you need your head checked. speaking of fests there is a yearly one here with local bands called metalfest."three stages" set up in a rickety blues hammer/cover band type of club.it's like,hmmm...let me choose the mainstage with the midtempo band,or i could go downstairs and watch the midtempo band,or i could outside in the back and watch the midtempo band.also, metalfest would mean metal bands, right? aggressive music too,no? but christian ska-punk?! couldn't get my band on that bill either.ha! this year too, probably.probably never playing a show here again.

Nothing wrong with giving away a free cd with a shirt. Most bands don't make shit off of the cds anyway, so if it's a demo or cd-r or something, why not? You aren't going to wear a shirt for a shitty band, so I wouldn't say it's an after thought.

demo/cd-r,fine...that cost next to nothing.but when it's an ep...i don't know.eh,it doesn't really matter anyway.
