I'm curious to see what your favorites are, grind or not.
Artificial Brain - Labyrinth Constellations Atriarch - An Unending Pathway Baby Ghosts - Maybe Ghosts D'Angelo & The Vanguard - Black Messiah Dead Congregation - Promulgation of the Fall Gazelle Twin - Unflesh Gowl - Blurr EP Hurula - Vi är människorna våra föräldrar varnade oss för Internal Rot - Mental Hygiene Life - Proof of Survival EP Panopticon - Roads to the North Pantalones Abajo Marinero - Heridas por Armas Blancas (personal favorite release this year!)
There were definitely a bunch of other records from this year I liked across genres, but these are definitely "must own" records in my mind, even though I still need to track down half of them.
I need to hear the whole thing, but the Misþyrming record is pretty fantastic, too. I just don't know whether or not that's a release for this year or next.

I always have a hard time picking favorites from the entire year, because half of the stuff I really liked I end up not listening to for a long-ass time in favor of older/classic releases. Makes me forget what came out when. I'll try to think of everything I thought was cool and report back, but I agree with Dead Congregation, Gowl, Internal Rot, Panopticon, and PAM, and that Artificial Brain has been growing on me lately (I really like the song Frozen Planets). "Flesh War" by Total Control was for sure my favorite song of 2014, though.
wait, fuck, I'm an idiot. StarGazer - "Merging To The Boundless" was for sure my favorite album from this year.
new Perturbator is also 100% killer

Internal Rot LP. I'm not much of a list person. Or much of a thinking man. I watched the Expendables 3 last night. I didnt make a list about it.

The one that I was way into that I assume no one else here will post about is Ty Segall - Manipulator. So much fuzz, silly falsetto and T-Rex.

Now? I forgot about Brutal Blues. I absolutely love list writing for the end of the year. It's definitely overcrowded and all but I I basically spend each December revisiting records and perusing other lists for anything I missed or anything I meant to check out and put on the back burner.

Brody's Militia - Napalm Zeppelin Raids too. All the rock and roll tendencies of the earlier records fully realized. Can't wait for more.
