I still stand behind MW prior to the Dave Witte years. The fact that MW is so boring now really does burn my ass, because Waste Em All is soooooooo good.

I don't give a fuck about what anyone on Relpase Records has to say about grindcore.

Taken from OG interview: "Soilent are a great entry point for those not fully ready for grind. Keep in mind it was 15 years ago when I first heard it, so my tastes have gotten more aggressive since then. I grew up on thrash, then got into death metal, then death grind, and now I’m digesting grind at an absurd rate." What a self-masturbatory thing to say, as though you need to brace for IMPACT, self-righteous nerd. As bad as metal nerds exclaiming that "it takes real brains to understand and fully appreciate metal" "I played in my hs Jazz band so Im well equipped"

I don't think it's the same as metal nerds saying you have to be intelligent or whatever, more that initially you just may not be ready for the intensity of it, which I totally get. First time I heard Assuck I wasn't ready for it either. I had to revisit it later before it really clicked.

I mean I get where you're coming from. I guess my reaction can't escape my hindsight. It just comes off like "you prolly wouldnt understand" while staring at a bench made of coat hangars.

I took issue with the assertion (in the opening lines of that OG article) that this one guy has spearheaded any kind of unity within the scene. I don't even like most of the bands he has discussed so far, and I know I'm not the only one.

I'm going to not read that interview so as to remain somewhat positive until I see the finished product.

Maruta is one of a handful of bands that were so bad live I started laughing out loud during their set.

Clearly you guys aren't ready for Maruta yet. Don't worry my tastes got way more aggressive as I got more and more involved with grindcore music

Actually ran into the dude making this film last night. While his tastes might not line up with mine per say he does have some cool interviews lined up and will not be skipping over Canadian grindcore so I have to applaud him for that.

Be that as it is a lot of "starter" grindcore that gets most of the focus is international, either from the States or from overseas. He mentioned he is interviewing Mesrine, Fistfuck, and Dahmer members. He was unaware of any side projects like Think Shit, Demolish. or Deche-Charge but hopefully those are brought up.
