What you need: 1 can black beans Corn Starch Vegetable Oil Any other vegetables you like/can afford and some bread I guess, unless you want to eat it alone, but in that case you're a jackass.
Then I play it by ear. Here's how it normally goes:
Put some oil in a pan, and start warming it up.
Only drain a little of the black bean juice, and then pour the black beans and the rest of that shit into a bowl - if you have other vegetables, put that in too, but I guess it would affect how much water you leave in. Use some spices and flavor to taste? Then put some corn starch in and mix it up. Use your own judgment on how much, it shouldn't be too much though. Just until kinda pasty. Then take the bowl and pour some into the pan. You don't need to mold a patty, it should just fry it all together into a patty itself. Then flip it. Then when it cooks enough, you're done. I normally wait until both sides are kind of browned, and it's good enough to eat.
All the ingredients are cheap as hell and it's pretty filling, so if you need to scrounge around because you put out a record before you had money, or quit your job to tour, it should be able to last a while.
Each can makes about like 4 black bean burgers, give or take your preference on burger girth.

Do these really stick together and not fall apart? My lentil burgers turned out horrid, but I also put them in a food processor.

Yeah, they stick together really well for me. Or well enough at least. They sometimes break in half when they're flipped. I was surprised to be honest though, I expected it to be sloppy when I first made them.

I made some of these today, except I used roux instead of corn starch because I hate using corn starch for cooking, not to mention I didn't even have any. Guess that makes mine not vegan, but whatever. I probably didn't even use real butter.

Roger, let's grub on some mass amounts of bacon @ MDF, yo Let's do it! Actually when it comes to bacon, I only eat the kind with no sugar added, but I'm totally down. Now maybe WE can share some recipes (I've got a killer one for Bacon Bison Meatloaf).

I've never actually had bison.
Roger, totally down for recipie sharing bro! I do a lot of cooking at work.
Speaking of bacon, the Triple Rock Social Club in MPLS does free bacon night EVERY WEDNESDAY from 9-11. AKA... if there was a heaven, it's in that place for those 2 hours. SRSLY... bacon by the BASKETS. <3

I think Will was being a dirty pervert and implying that we are people who partake in cunnilingus during a woman's menstrual cycle. Bison is delicious! It's kind of like a more "spicy" beef. Spicy isn't really the right word, can't really explain it. Free bacon? Wow, that's intense! Have you guys tried the Bacon Explosion yet? It's become kind of a phenomenon lately. www.bbqaddicts.com/blog/recipes/bacon-explosion/
