which sounds better? something that i was always wanted to know and so far iv been getting mixed answers from searching the net, though most tend to agree that black is the way to go, quality wise.
what do you guys think?

I've heard that any type of clear/transparent vinyl has worse sound quality, but I'm not sure if that is true.

Generally black vinyl sounds better from what I've heard and read. Colour vinyl I guess the difference isn't noticeable unless you're rockin' a high-end turntable Clear lesser quality Picture discs terrible!

180g and 220g records are a ripoff. The grooves aren't cut any deeper than normal so the sound is the same, but hey, at least you get to pay more in postage! What a scam.

Keeps them from warping, which obviously would help the sound.

-waffles for the win
/really thin black vinyl feels cheap... in every way.
colored vinyl is cool though, as a novelty... and for general anal retentive vinyl collecting aesthetics. i have a lot of records that are on colored vinyl... a lot more than i realize, sometimes. a lot of times i pull one out and go "oh yeah, that's pretty, i forgot all about that being on color". i don't really mind the quality degradation, either... not tooo badly... most of the time. i mean, sometimes the record is supposed to sound like shit.

I've never had any of my records warp due to storage issues. Where are you people keeping yours, in a sauna?

I've never had it happen either, doesn't mean it doesn't. The plural of anecdote is not data.

the only time i've had records warp is when the mail/ups person leaves them in the fucking sun in the front door. fuck.
edit: all the more incentive to stay home and not leave my house.
