Does anyone use Aardvark? I submitted a lacquer and plating order last week and they haven't added it to the recent projects page (updated yesterday), won't return my emails, and I can't get them through phone. Can't even figure out who to address the stupid check to. They are the cheapest by far, but I'm quickly on the way to saying fuck it and just spending the money somewhere else.

I've gone through them a couple times now. Been pretty quick for me. I got a prompt reply by email last time I emailed them (guys name is Paul). I'm pretty sure I wrote out the money order to Aardvark Record Mastering (LLC?). Never tried calling, never needed to I guess. He might just be really backed up right now. Try paul @ vark.us

never had a problem with Aardvark. They were fast enough. I also never tried to contact them, and I didn't rely on that projects list because it seems to never be up to date.

Yeah I got a super fast response initially, but I never heard back from them after I had submitted my stuff, when I messaged through the site again, or when I emailed Paul directly. I guess I'll wait another day or two before I to plans B or C, it is a good value.

Is A to Z still a good option for tapes? Saw someone post on here that they weren't answering emails or something but I can't remember where or who.

they were expensive when I did the Winters In Osaka tapes there (and all I got were tapes and cases, I did the covers at home)

Saw someone post on here that they weren't answering emails or something but I can't remember where or who. they are turning 200 tapes (for about $350) in 3 wks for me in time for a band from Italy to have them for a west coast tour. that time includes shipping to Cali from Ohio. i still back them.

A to Z never hit me back when I submitted a quote months ago, but I wasn't too impressed with the perforated jcards I have seen them do for other people's projects Is A to Z still a good option for tapes? I never e-mailed A to Z, I called them. They were fast and reasonably priced.

Thanks for the insight everyone. I'm gonna use AtoZ for tapes and have my J-cards printed by Econopress. Hopefully everything goes swimmingly.

I was very pleased with Econopress' turnaround and print quality on the 7" covers he did for us recently

200-250 was the lowest he would go last time I asked.

always call A TO Z. theyll tell you they rarely get to emails in a timely manner. my recent job i did was 200 tapes(jcards, no imprint, shrink) for $315 incl shipping to California. submitted 5/7. shipped 5/28. i had a 'band on tour' deadline and they were stoked to help. and yeah.. Econopress is still the best thing/guy going. will print with him til he quits.

My record is still not pressed, and I am still dealing with Aardvark. I will never recommend them to anyone. Supposedly shipped my plates on 6/18, URP hasn't received them, never got tracking from Aardvark and they haven't responded to my emails/phone calls for over a week. Fuck that.

My hands are still tied on the record we've been trying to get out for MONTHS, Mastercraft are the only helpful parties in the Aardvark chain it seems

I don't remember what thread the initial convo took place in but NAC came through on getting the Spew/Coffin Dust tapes cranked out in time for CD's tour. I sent all the files in on June 26th and Matt had tapes in hand July 30th. If you go through NAC make sure to CALL and ask for Samantha Rose. Don't even fuck with emailing for a quote, just call in, ask for her, and tell her what you're looking to get and by when and she'll send you a quote. My experience with NAC has always been positive and I've only ever gone through her... but I call for everything and I always tell her the tapes are for a tour. Call for the quote, call and make sure she gets the files and that they look good right when i send them, call when the order is 2 weeks from the date needed, and call after production is confirmed to make sure they ship on the day needed. I also pad the "needed" date by at least a couple days. I might just have gotten lucky every time and you dudes who have had issues may do this shit too but I figured it was worth mentioning.
They also just got some new shell colors in so if you're about to put in an order make sure you ask to see them.
