I don't remember where the thread was where we were talking about Razor, but I think Shotgun Justice may be one of the best things I've ever heard in my life.
Seriously.

Highly underrated band. That album and Violent Restitution are sick. Glad you're diggin' it.

Was listening to Dekapitator this morning and it made me think of this thread.
If you're still on a thrash kick Mike you should def check out their album's The Storm Before the Calm and We Will Destroy... You Will Obey. Members of Exhumed, Repulsion, etc. playing thrash very similar to Razor. The vocals are so similar I had to make sure it wasn't the same dude.

my brother saw dekapitator a few years ago and loved it.
really been into Exhorder, Demolition Hammer, and later Sarcofago recently. i wish i knew more people who listen to thrash, ive been forced to discover the genre basically on my own.

Love me some DH and Sarcofago, was never super into Exhorder.
Fully agree on the "wishing i knew people who listened to X." I think I would have gotten into better music at an earlier age if someone would have told me what was up. Seems like I've just kind of magically stumbled across every genre I enjoy over time.

Sodom and late 80's Slayer!
Well, somebody said Ghoul? One of my fave bands EVER. Proudly wearing the Numbskull patch on my vest!

Being a BIG fan of Impaled I was stoked when Ghoul came to Ialy a couple of years ago. They played at a festival called September to Dismember, which featured a lot of different kind of bands. All the others band appealed only to their relative crowd (crusters with crusters, fastcorers with fastcorers and so on), Ghoul was the only band that got a strong grip to everyone, managing to create an amazing atmosphere. Awesome gig, one of the best i've seen, plus Ross Sewage seemd a super ok guy!

I had the LP of Splatterthrash sitting around for a few years and I'd maybe listened to it once. When I picked it back up and played it on a whim this past fall, I was seriously kicking myself for not getting into it sooner.

give Maniaxe a listen, it's more death oriented but I think it kicks asses more (even if I think Sommese > Varela)

I like maniaxe a lot, but can't stomach the anthrax-style gang vocals on splatterthrash. anthrax sucks!

i just think its a really good album. my buddy mondo is the only other friend i have who knows who they are, so i cant really comment on how over rated they are. i live in the woods. i do see a lot of high school kids wearing slayer tees though, haven't heard them yet.

Haven't heard Slayer?
I remember first hearing them when I was 14 and my initial reaction was that Tom Araya's vocals pissed me off so bad. I've seriously been trying for 10 years now to understand why people love this band so much and while I don't hate them, I just don't get it.

hah im quite familiar with slayer. and i dont really live in the woods. that band is definitely overhyped, i like a couple of their singles (Dittohead, Show no Mercy) but for all their speed they lack the rampaging power of metal. and arayas vocals bug me a lot.
