I just picked up a $5.99 sixpack of Wernesgruner, half of them are gettin' cold now... Plus steak and avocados, both on sale. This weekend might be better than previously expected.

I homebrew a lot, so I drink a lot of that stuff. We're lucky in Raleigh. There's 2 awesome stores to buy craft beer, plus lots of the bars here have excellent beer selections. Not to mention all the breweries here.
For all of you who drink mass-produced swill on the regular, I recommend a viewing of "Beer Wars." I saw it a few weeks ago and I will never drink that shit again.
2 of the best beers I think I've ever head are Bells' Hopslam and Oskar Blues' Gubna. If you can find them I suggest trying them.
When I was at MDF, I found a store that sold Dogfish Head's 120 minute IPA. I was glad to try it and mark it off my list, but that shit was hard to drink. Dogfish Head beers are a weird one for me. I love how adventurous they are with their beers, but I feel their execution is always just a little short of the mark. Thoughts?

I really like the Dogfish Head 90 minute IPA, the 60 is ok and those are the only one's I've had. I'm a pretty big IPA fan.

I still had a few of those in my fridge down south when I moved back up here from NC. What an amazing beer. Too bad I never got to finish drinking my last 6-pack down there.

currently drinking this: This beer fucking rules, but we can't get any Yuengling here in CT. Also have to agree with Dooley on the Black Boss, you can get it for less than 2 dollars.

Drinking some homebrew at practice tonight. Drummer made a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale ripoff. Pretty good, not too bitter, a hint of lemon. Around 6% too, so no complaints really.

I just got home with a case of 'Pitbull' brand malt liquor... The booze shoppe had them on special for $4.99. For a CASE! Of 16 oz cans! Made here in WI. I might be going back tomorrow if it's any good.

Gnarly. I've been drinking New Belgium's Mothership a bit lately at work. Pretty decent.

Gnarly is definitely the taste test outcome! I noticed Pitbull's not just malt liquor, it's 'high gravity ice malt liqour'. I like high grav (steel reserve!!!), I like malt liquor (mickeys!), but it tastes way more 'ice', which is not a beer type I like much. It's like stronger icehouse. The plus side is, at 10.2%, two of them get you a six pack beer buzz. Whatever, I got a new song out of it, and it'll be the athem of a new generation! (As long as that generation likes songs that sound like Drunks with Guns-meets-Coffins) And 22 more to go! I'm tempted to buy a couple cases to take to BFG, but they did just fix the windows...

Picked up a six of New Belgium Sunshine, shit is way too sweet for my taste. Reminds me of Sunset Wheat, which I always thought tasted like damn fruity pebbles anyway.

It's awesome to see so many homebrewers here.
I typically stay with High Life or PBR because of money, but I drink IPAs if I've got enough to spare. There's a brewery in Colorado called Ska that makes a great IPA called Decadent that's got malts in it to balance out the bitter taste from the hops that I always reccomend to my friends who won't get into IPAs. There's a local brewery called Good People that makes a great double IPA called Snakehandler.
The laws here are weird. Alabama just allowed us to go up to 10% ABV (I think), but we still can't buy bomber bottles or 40s, which leaves out a lot of good beers. As a result, some liquor stores have gotten licenses to sell draft beer in the store, so I can walk out with a gallon of beer in a milk jug for like 18 bucks.

Not beer, but I've been drinking this lately: have you tried any bourbon aged beer? loads of oak/vanilla notes in them. I just had Heavy seas Greater Pumpkin ale on tap last week it is their Imperial Pumpkin ale aged in bourbon barrels and it tasted like really good whiskey and mild pumpkin/spice tones. it was insane. not my favorite but i will try other styles of beer aged in those barrels now.

Nice, that looks awesome. I've only had Hop Devil and Golden Monkey, but those were solid.
