American History X is def way better than RS but Ed Norton kills it in pretty much every movie he's cast in so that's no surprise.

Edward Norton is Edward Norton in every movie he's cast in.

works for me, just watched Stone the other night. The first half of the movie is pretty incredible (Norton's acting in particular), the later half was all pretty much downhill but I don't remember why i thought so in retrospect

Stone has a fairly solid cast, but I can see how it wouldn't be a great movie.
Newest Norton movie I recall seeing was Pride and Glory.

I'm usually incredibly skeptical of all movies but the first half seriously had me wondering how Norton hadn't been nominated for an Oscar. It's still definitely Norton being Norton (as you stated) but an example of character acting at it's finest.

Robin Hood was OK. Large amount of medival violence saved it, but it should have been called 'Robin Hood: Before the Beginning'.
Sherlock Holmes kicked ass tho! I like Guy Ritchie movies, didn't realise he directed SH until the end credits.

I think RH is on it's way from netflix now... at least i know it won't be terrible. It was very watchable... Just don't expect Robin Hood of Sherwood Forest storyline like most Robin Hood flicks. The movie is before he becomes Robin Hood, and goes right up to that point, so it's more of a medival adventure movie.

I watched Open up and Say Chi Pig the documentary about Mr. Chi Pig (Ken Chinn), vocalist for SNFU the other day. It's a really great film. I also think it's awesome that he's got his life back together after pretty much being a homeless junkie for a long time.

he still looks like a homeless junkie. he seemed pretty wasted hanging out infront of a bar I was at not that long ago.
also, he flashed his nipples on stage at the Propagandhi show

I watched Open up and Say Chi Pig the documentary about Mr. Chi Pig (Ken Chinn), vocalist for SNFU the other day. It's a really great film. I also think it's awesome that he's got his life back together after pretty much being a homeless junkie for a long time. He works (kinda) at a bar I frequent, he always gives me really long hugs and grazes his hand over my ass. Not that I know him too well personally or would want to speculate, but compared to just a few years ago he definitely seems like he's doing a lot better. That doc was pretty interesting but I wish they'd gotten Marc Belke's side of the story... I think he flat out refused to be a part though? He was doing merch for a band I toured with once right after SNFU broke up and he stressed how upset he would be if they got back together with a completely new lineup. Considering he wrote most of the songs I can see his point... On the other hand, I don't know what kind of marketable skills a middle aged recovering addict who's been a career musician his whole life has, and he's able to to pull a living and stay reasonably out of trouble doing his band. Also in my opinion, of all the old time "legendary" Canadian bands, Chi Pig and a bunch of new recruits is way more entertaining than the rest (cept NoMeansNo, but they're my favourite band), and he's still a great front man. Anyone heard Slaveco? They were a short lived band of Marc and Chi's around 2004ish I think... I doubt many people here would be interested but they put out a really cool CD-R that holds up way better than a lot of SNFU material. More varied and spacey but without turning into shit indie rock or anything.

holds up way better than a lot of SNFU material. More varied that. is the problem with SNFU. i just can't get into them for long stretches of time. however, I'm going to always stand by D.O.A. 1978-1984 (more or less) as being the best Canadian punk had to offer in that crucial period. nomeanso is a close second (and they have undoubtedly outlasted D.O.A.'s relevance and worthwhile output) Jordan, I assume you have Removal's Irrelevant Music Series 7"s? I've got the ones with Chi Pig, Johnny Hanson, and Chris Hannah. I did have the one with Mr. Wrong but I foolishly sold it to Noelle (it was the best of the lot).

Yeah I can more or less agree with that whole sentiment. Only SNFU i really dig is the first two and a half albums, although their last one was actually way better than anything they did on Epitaph. I have most of the 7"es, I still can't believe they got Peaches, ha ha. I don't really care much for the A-sides, although the Mr. Wrong and Snake (Voi Vod) ones are pretty cool. Those were all compiled on CD a while back, I know I have it around here somewhere...

sean, are you going to get into Game of Thrones? Not very into the books, but my friend's are, so one of them will prob DV-R it and pass the DVD around. I think HBO will do a good job with it, but I don't have 'premium cable'. You looking forward to it?

I'm a TV head. I watched The Social Network last night. Good movie, but that's not really a surprise since it's a David Fincher film.

I spend enough time on the comp w/o watching TV on it! I only watch two shows right now anyways; Justified + Archer. And only a handful more throughout the year; Burn Notice, The Walking Dead... And American Dad + Family Guy before I crash at nite. Used to try watching a bit more, but they always cancel the shows I like (Dollhouse, Terriers, Heroes, etc...), so I don't really bother. I'd rather read or do hobby crap.

I watched the first season of Breaking Bad, and part of the 2nd. Then I just kinda lost interest, like w/ Sons of Anarchy and White Collar... I should try to get s2 from the library and pick it up again. You should check out season one of Justified. It's as good a show as BB. The 2nd season must be only two or three episodes from finishing up, and it kicked more ass than the first.

I liked The Colony, but the streaming site sucks and is too choppy so I gave up.

Jordan, if you have that CD of all the Irrelevant singles, I'd definitely like to borrow it/get a rip/copy of. I don't even know who's all in the 10, previously didn't know about Snake, didn't know about Chris Hannah until I saw it in a store. Definitely would like to hear the rest of it. I used to always want the Shithead one but they were always sold out when I saw them (yet they had one at the table on display and wouldn't sell me it?). Sean, I've never read the book, but a funny thing is a few weeks back I was at a bookstore/record shop and amidst my record searching was tasked with getting a book for my mom. She'd been reading all the swords and sorcery type of stuff and I just asked the guy what he'd recommend. He gave me Game of Thrones (it was free with my credit). I found out about the show the same day, was just a weird coincidence. I normally don't care too much about or watch shows like that, but it's HBO and Sean Bean. Also, I'd recommend Black Death www.imdb.com/title/tt1181791/ (it's better than the 6.6/10 IMDB gives it)
